Welcome. In this lesson we will cover inside a smartphone — key components. It takes about 10 min.

A smartphone has these main parts: the screen (display and touch sensor), battery (power source), motherboard (main circuit board connecting everything), charging port (where you plug in the charger), camera module, speaker and microphone, and storage chip. Knowing where each part sits inside the phone is the foundation of repair work.
Most repairs involve one of these five things: screen replacement (cracked glass), battery replacement (phone dies quickly), charging port repair (won't charge), speaker/earpiece replacement (can't hear calls), and water damage recovery (phone dropped in water). Master these five and you can serve 90% of customers who walk through your door.
